Hi, my name is Leonie and i`m new to `b`!

こんにちは、レオーニです。ｂのレッスンパートナーに仲間入りしたの。

I`ve lived in Tokyo for one year, and i love this city because it`s so
different to my home town of Brighton in England.

東京には一年住んでいるんだけど私は東京がとっても大好き！
だって私の故郷のイギリスのブライトンと全然違うんですもの！！

Brighton is a seaside city in the south of England - about one hour away
from London.

ブライトンは南イギリスの海岸沿いの町で、ロンドンから一時間くらいの所よ。

It is quite a small city which is famous for its arts and
culture, for its shingle(pebble) beaches, and for its piers which many
tourists like to visit - especially in the summer.

ブライトンはとっても小さい町なんだけどアートや文化が有名で綺麗な小石
のある浜辺や浅橋に夏にはたくさんの観光客が訪れるの。

Usually the sea is too cold to swim in - most people only go swimming in July and August!
でも海は水温が冷たすぎて、ほとんどの人は6月から8月の間しか海では泳がないわ。

Brighton also is famous for its Royal Pavilion which looks like a much
smaller version of the Taj Mahal in India.
　あとブライトンは、インドのタージ．マハールをすっごく小さくしたみたいな
王室のパビリオンがあることでも有名なの。

It was built by the Prince Regent who lived in Brighton before he became King of England.

そのパビリオンはPrince Regent という王様がまだイギリス国王になる前にブライトンに住んでいて、
その時に建てられたものなの。

The Pavilion looks very strange next to all the modern buildings in Brighton!

たくさんの近代的なビルの隣にある古〜いパビリオンはかなり不思議に見えるわ。

Brighton is also close to the Sussex Downs which is a famous area of
English countryside - i always used to walk my dog there and look at the
amazing views.

ブライトンの近くにイギリスらしい田園風景で人気のサセックス高原にもとっても近いの。
私はよくそこで犬の散歩をしながらその景色をうっとり見ていたわ。

On sunny days, people would often go and fly their kites up
there, walk their dogs and have picnics with their families.

日曜にはみんな凧を飛ばしたり、犬の散歩をしたり、家族でピクニックをしに出かけるの。

I love Tokyo because the city is so exciting and futuristic, my favourite
places are Harajuku (because i love Yoyogi Park) and Ueno (because i love
the museums and art galleries)

わたしは東京が大好き！未来的ですごくわくわくする街だから♪
わたしのお気に入りの場所は原宿（代々木公園が大好きなの！）と
上野（美術館やアートギャラリーもとぉっても大好きなの！）
　

One thing which i noticed in Tokyo is the way people ride their bicycles on
the sidewalk here - in England it is not allowed!

不思議だな、と思うのは東京では歩道を自転車で走っていること、イギリスではそれは絶対にダメ。

But on the trains people　are so much quieter than English people.

でも電車の中は日本人の方がイギリス人よりとっても静かね。

In England everyone shouts into their cellphones on the train; it's very stressful!

イギリスではみんな平気で電車の中で携帯電話で大声で話してて、
すごくイライラするわ！
