Christmas Eve
クリスマス　イヴ

The day before Christmas is always really exciting!
クリスマスの前の日っていつも本当にワクワクするよね！！

I`ll usually stay at home and relax with my family - helping to get everything finished for the big day, wrapping presents and watching TV.
私のイヴは、家族と一緒に家でのんびり過ごすの。次の日のビックイベントの準備を終わらせる手伝いをしたり、プレゼントを包んだり、テレビを見たりしながらね。

Sometimes I go for a walk around the shops with my sister, just to enjoy the atmosphere.
時には、妹とクリスマスの雰囲気を楽しむだけのためにお店を回ったりもするわね。

When we were all younger we would leave a glass of milk, a mince pie and a carrot out in the evening for Father Christmas and his reindeer!
私達が子どもの頃は、イヴの夜になるとサンタさんとトナカイ達のために、ミルクとミンスパイとニンジンを外に置いたわ。

Christmas Day
クリスマス

We always wake up really early on Christmas Day.
クリスマスの朝は早くから起きるわ！

We go downstairs into the living room
階段を駆け下りて、リビングルームに飛び込むの。

and open our presents in our pajamas, and after we have a special breakfast of smokedsalmon and scrambled egg on toast.
そしてパジャマのままプレゼントを開けて、そしてその後は特別なブレイクファーストを取るの、メニューはスモークサーモンとスクランブルエッグを乗せたトースト!!

Christmas Dinner takes a long time to get ready so we don`t eat until later in the afternoon.
とっておきのクリスマスディナーは準備にすごく時間がかかるから、みんなお腹をすかして待ってるの。

We always have turkey with cranberry sauce, a legof ham, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables and Christmas pudding.
クリスマスディナーにはターキーにクランベリーソース、ハムとローストポテトに、それからヨークシャープディング(塩味がきいたちょっと硬いホットケーキのようなもの。 )を食べるのよ!!

In the evening we all sit and have some Christmas cake, mince pies and watch films.
クリスマスの夜の過ごし方は、みんなでケーキを食べたり、ミンスパイを食べたり映画を見たりするの。

It`s a lovelytime to spend with family!
そう、クリスマスは家族と過ごすとっておきの日！！

Boxing Day
ボクシング・デー(クリスマスの翌日)

The day after Christmas is just like a second Christmas Day for my family.
私の家族にとってこの日は、二番目のクリスマスみたいなものなの。

We go and visit our relatives in Edinburgh - my granny, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
エディンバラの親戚を尋ねに行ったりするわ。おばあちゃんや、叔父さん、叔母さん、それに従弟達に会いにね!!

A couple of years ago we had a great time and my uncles played guitars and
we all sang songs and had too much to drink!
二年前は、そうやって親戚で集まって叔父さんたちのギターに合わせてみんなで歌って、ガブガブお酒を飲んで楽しい時間をすごしたわ！

I`ll miss Christmas back home this year, but I`ve got plenty of Japanese traditions to keep me busy!
家で過ごすクリスマスが恋しくなってきちゃう！でも日本の年末はとっても忙しいからそうもいって
いられない!!

I think this year I might go and get KFC and also go ice skating in Minatomirai inYokohama.
きっと今年のクリスマスはケンタッキーフライドチキンを買って、横浜のみなとみらいでスケートかな？

1st photo - Mince pie - it`s not made from meat though!
ミンスパイ-お肉を使って作ってないの！

The filling in mince pies is actually fruit, and so it`s really sweet.
フィリングはフルーツを使ってるの、だからすごく甘いのよ。

They are lovely heated up with double cream over the top.
温めて、上にたっぷりと生クリームを乗せてあるの!!

2nd photo - Aberdeen University at Christmas - every year they put up a big tree, and one year we were lucky to have snow in December!
アバディーン大学のクリスマス- 毎年大きなツリーを飾ってくれるの、そして
一年前、ラッキーなことに12月に雪が降ったのよ!!
