This month we will look at idioms involving money.Because there are
so many idioms involving money I will present money part II next month.
今月はお金に関するイディオムです。来月はお金に関するイディオムパート２として、もっとたくさんのイディオムをご紹介しますよ！

Bet one`s bottom dollar
一番下にある１ドルを賭ける

Means to bet all that one has on something because you are sure that you will win.
勝つことが目に見えている時、持っている物全てを賭ける。という意味です。

例：I would bet my bottom dollar that it rains tonight.
今晩、雨が降るってことに私の一番下にある１ドルをかけるわ！

Born with a silver spoon in one`s mouth
銀のスプーンを口にくわえて生まれる

means to be born to wealth and comfort,to be born rich.
生まれつき裕福で、お金持ちとして生まれてきたことに心地よさを感じているという意味です。

例：Paris , was born with a silver spoon in her mouth.
パリス(ヒルトン)は、銀のスプーンを口にくわえて生まれてきた。

Can take that to the bank
銀行にそれを持っていくことができる

Means a statement is true,something is
guaranteed to be successful.
つまり、言っていることが真実で、それが必ず成功することを保証された状態のことですね。

例：The price of gas will continue to increase and you can take that to the bank.
ガソリンの値段は今後も高騰し続ける、そしてそれを銀行に持っていくことが出来るよ。

Cost an arm and a leg
片腕と片足のコストがかかる。

Means to cost a lot of money
大金がかかるという意味です。

例：These days it costs an arm and a leg to buy gas.
最近はガソリンを買うのに片腕と片足のコストがかかるよ。

A dime a dozen
１０セント、１ダース

Means eazy to find and therefore of little value
簡単に見つけることが出来るけど、その分価値も少ないという意味です。

例：Used computers are a dime a dozen.
中古のコンピューターは１０セント、１ダースだね。

For my money
私のお金のために

Is used before you say something to show your opinion.
これは、貴方が自分の意見を表す前に使います。

例：For my money, I believe the new business model will be a success.
私のおかねの為にね、私はその新しいビジネスモデルは成功すると信じているわ！

A handout
配布する書類

Means a gift of money( usually from the government)
これは、お金のギフトがあるということです(通常は政府からのものを指します)

例：The airline received a handout from the government.
あの航空会社は、政府から配布する書類をもらったね。

Have the Midas touch
ミダスに触る。

Means to have the ability to make money easily.
簡単に金儲けをすることができる技術があるという意味です。

例：King Midas turned everything he touched into gold.
ミダス王様は触れた物全てを金に変えた。

例：Steve Jobs, has the Midas touch, every product his company creates makes
alot of money.
スティーブ・ジョブスはミダスに触る、彼の会社が作り出したものは、全て大金を産むんだ。

Highway robbery
高速道路泥棒

Means to charge a high price for something.
何かに対し、高額のチャージをするという意味。

例：The amount the airlines are charging for the fuel surcharge is highway robbery.
航空会社が燃料費としてチャージしているものは、まさに高速道路泥棒だよ！

In the black
黒の中

Means to be profitable,to make money
お金を産む上で利益があるという意味です。つまり、黒字。

例：Our company finished the second quarter in the black.
私達の会社は、二期目を黒字で終えた。

In the red
赤の中。

Means to be unprofitable,to be losing money,to be in debt
利益にならないもの、お金を失い、借金ができてしまうこと。つまり赤字。

例：The company has been in the red now for the last three quarters.
会社が過去三期ずっと赤字だよ。

Live within one`s means
誰かの意味の中で生きる

Means to spend no more money than one has
持っている以上のお金は使わないという意味です。

例：I was always taught to live within my means.
僕はずっと、自分の持ち金以上は使わないように教えられてきたよ。
