casting blog「Chris’ Christmas “hometown” Vacation in Toronto Canada 〜カナダ、トロントでのクリスのクリスマス“ホームタウン”休暇〜」

I went back to Toronto for 3 weeks!!! (Yes, 3 weeks!!!) at the end of
last year to visit family, friends and eat many a Christmas dinner!!!
僕は去年の暮れに家族と友達に会いに、そして沢山のクリスマス・ディナーを
食べるために3週間トロントに帰りました！（そう、3週間だよ！！）

Upon arrival tears were shed and hugs were had as I was reunited with my　mom
and dad as they so kindly greeted me at Pearson International airport　in Toronto.
到着したらすぐに、母さんと父さんに再会して涙を流してハグをしたんだ。
ピアソン国際空港で彼らは本当に僕を温かく迎えてくれたんだよ。

From the tears flowed a lot of great times over the course of 3 weeks.
I visited friends, family members, went out, watched TV ate lots and　grew a belly.
それから3週間、沢山の素晴らしい時間を過ごしたんだ。
友達や家族と出かけたり、テレビを観たり、沢山食べてお腹がどんどん大きくなったよ。

It was a blast! as we were blasted with snowstorm after snowstorm.
I spent most of my time shoveling snow and taking in the crisp cold air
of -25 degrees celsius.
Samui!!! We received about 30 to 60cm of snow over 3 weeks. Unbelievable!!!
I helped my grandfather shovel as he is getting up in years as well as a
friend of my mothers who has a big driveway.
They　were both very thankful and I was just glad to see them and be
outdoors getting some exercise.

何度も吹雪の猛攻を受けて、凄かったんだ！
僕は殆どの時間を雪かきをして、-25℃のパリッとした冷たい空気の中で過ごしたよ。
サムイ！！3週間を通して30〜60cmの雪が降ったんだ。信じられないよ！！
僕は祖父と、大きい私道を持っている母の友達の雪かきを手伝ったんだ。
彼らはとっても感謝してくれたけど、僕はただ彼らに会いたかったのと
外に出てエクササイズがしたかっただけなんだ。

It was also a “white gold” opportunity for me.
I went from house to house　on my street asking neighbors if they needed
a hand shoveling.
I was lucky enough to make 20 bucks and get a nice glass of soya
chocolate milk.

僕にとって滅多にないチャンスだったんだよ！
通りの一軒一軒を尋ねて、近所の人達に雪かきが必要かどうか訊いたんだ。
僕は幸運にも20ドルを手に入れて、美味しい豆乳チョコレート・ミルクを買ったんだ。

After the snow settled we were inside for family festivities,
fun and 3 rounds of Christmas dinners.

雪が落ち着いた後、僕達は家族パーティのため家の中にいて、
3ラウンドのクリスマスディナーを楽しんだんだ。

(Round 1)
On December 24th, Christmas Eve we all went over to my Grandparents house
and had a Czech style Christmas dinner.
We talked and prayed for a good year as well as exchanged presents
by the Christmas tree. A little caroling and singing was in the air as　well.

【ラウンド1】
24日のクリスマス・イヴに皆で祖父の家に行ってチェコスタイルの
クリスマス・ディナーを食べたよ！
僕達はクリスマス・ツリーの傍でプレゼント交換をして、良い一年を祈願したんだ。
クリスマスキャロルと歌も流れていたよ。

(Round 2)
Christmas Day we woke up and exchanged more presents!!!
We took in a day of TV and Christmas movies.
Followed by a lovely Turkeydinner with all the trimmings. Yummy!!!
Mom’s home baked Christmas　cookies were enjoyed after dinner
as we braced ourselves for the knockout round on Boxing Day the 26th.

【ラウンド2】
クリスマスに僕達は朝起きると更にプレゼントを交換したんだ！
テレビやクリスマス映画を観て一日を過ごしたよ。
そして沢山の種類のつけ合わせの七面鳥のディナーを食べたんだ。美味しかった！
ディナーの後、母さんの手作りクリスマスクッキーを食べて
ノックアウトされる26日のボクシング・デーに備えたんだ。

(Round 3)
We all traveled out to my Aunt’s house in the country and had a country
style Christmas.Smoked ham and fish with mashed potatoes and
corn followed by chocolate pie.
Yes sir, stick to your bones food. We caught up on good times and had a laugh.

【ラウンド3】
田舎の叔母さんの家に遊びに行って田舎風のクリスマスを楽しんだよ。
燻製のハムと魚、マッシュポテトとコーンの後にチョコレート・パイ！
分かりました！チキンも食べます！僕達は楽しい時間を笑って過ごしたんだ。

Knocked out at the 3rd round is what we were after all that food and fun.
The rest of the holidays I spent shoveling snow and sleeping off those　pounds.

ラウンド３のノックアウトはいったい何かというと、この三日間のたくさんの食事と楽しい時間を
過ごした後のことを言うんだ。
残りの休暇は雪かきと寝て過ごしたよ。
