一番自然な表現は？

日本語の「暗算する」と英語の意味のズレ
日本語の「暗算する」には、紙に筆算せず、電卓も使わず、頭の中だけで計算するという意味が含まれます。しかし英語では、何を強調するかによって表現が変わります。
- 方法を説明する：calculate mentally / calculate … in your head
- 暗算という技能を言う：do mental math / mental arithmetic
- 会話で「それを頭でやる」と言う：do it in your head
- 考えて答えを出す：work it out in your head
なお、estimate は「見積もる・概算する」です。頭の中で計算していても、おおよその答えなら estimate、正確な答えを出す暗算なら calculate や work out が合います。

calculate の後ろには、計算する対象を置きます。
