Hi everyone, Hope you are all okay after the earthquake that happened a couple of weeks
ago. I'm sure it will be a day we will all never forget. It was truly one
of the scariest things I have ever experienced. It affected and changed so
many people in all of Japan, and the entire world.

After the earthquake I spent a few days in Tokyo, feeling confused and
concerned. I decided to take a break and go back to Kyoto, where I used to
live, and just relax for a few days. I also went to Osaka while I was out
there. During this time, my family and friends were asking me to come home
to Canada. It was very difficult for me to tell people that I was staying
in Japan instead of coming home. People didn't understand why I would want
to stay in a place that is unsafe. As scary as the past couple of weeks
have been, I felt sad about the idea of leaving Japan, because there is so
much that I love about Japan, and I feel like I have so much more to
experience here before I will be ready to leave.

Japan is a country that is extremely prepared for earthquakes, so I have
faith that things will return to normal quickly. I feel bad for the people
up north, and I feel concerned for the situation in Fukushima, but I think
it seems like people in Japan are doing a great job of moving forward
positively, which I am thankful for. I am happy to be in Tokyo, and excited
to be returning to work. Lookforward to talking to you soon!
