Last week, I came back from visiting my hometown in Texas.
It had been 7 years since I had last been there.
That’s a long time!
(Yes, I hadn’t seen my mother and father in all that time.)
There was really one main reason I went there: my youngest sister’s wedding.
先週、テキサスにある私の地元へ帰ってきたの。
前に帰ったのは7年前。
7年ぶりだなんて、かなり久しぶりよね。そう、実はその間、両親にもずっと会えていなかったの。
今回帰省した一番の理由は、一番下の妹の結婚式だったのよ。
In January 2025, my sister and her boyfriend came to Japan. They got engaged there in front of Mount Fuji.
2025年1月には、妹とそのボーイフレンドが日本に来ていてね。
なんと、富士山の前でプロポーズをして婚約したの。
In January 2026, they got married in Texas in a lovely, historical place called Quinta Mazatlan.
I wanted to share a bit about my sister’s wedding.
It was pretty unique! It wasn’t very traditional.
2026年1月、ふたりはテキサス州のキンタ・マサトランという美しく歴史的な場所で結婚式を挙げたのよ。
今回は、妹の結婚式について少しシェアしたいと思って。
というのも、この結婚式、あまり伝統的なスタイルでなくて、とてもユニークだったのよ。
First of all, there was an arcade! (a game center)
My sister and I played ‘Dance Dance Revolution’ towards the end of the night.
まず最初に驚いたのは、ゲームセンターがあったこと！
夜も終盤になってから、妹と一緒に『ダンスダンスレボリューション』で遊んだの。
Also, there was an ice cream truck serving 4 different flavors of ice cream.
Lastly, there were some tattoo artists. They provided free tattoos for the guests.
それから、アイスクリームトラックも来ていたの。
4種類のアイスクリームが用意されていて、好きな味を選べたのよ。
そして最後に驚いたのが、タトゥーアーティストがいたこと。
ゲストにはなんと、無料でタトゥーを入れてくれたの。
And of course, there was a big dance floor for guests to dance.
もちろん、大きなダンスフロアもあって、ゲストみんなが自由に踊れるようになっていたわ。
