一番自然な表現は？
学校で調べた内容をクラスの前で発表するなら present、会社が人事や業績を正式に発表するなら announce が自然です。新製品・映画・調査報告書などを世に出す場合は release を使います。

present は「発表という行為をする」だけでなく、資料・考え・証拠などを聞き手に分かる形で提示することに焦点があります。対して announce は、内容を詳しく説明することより、重要な情報を人々に知らせることが中心です。
release は「口頭で発表する」というより、製品・作品・資料などを公に出し、見たり使ったりできる状態にする語です。「公表する」の情報公開に焦点を当てたい場合は、announce・disclose・reveal・make publicの違いも参考になります。

present：人前で説明・提示する
present＋内容、または present＋内容＋to＋人 が基本です。「〜について発表する」なら give a presentation on / about＋話題 もよく使います。
