In Louisiana, the school year starts in the middle of August, so by September students are starting to settle into the new routine and make new friends. It’s still very hot and humid, but the sun isn’t as strong, and you feel the change of the seasons begin. I haven’t been in school for many years, but I still feel the effect of this routine!
ルイジアナ州では新学期は8月中旬に始まるので、9月になるころには、生徒たちも新しい生活リズムに少しずつ慣れてきて、新しい友達もできはじめるの。
まだ蒸し暑さは残っているけれど、真夏のような強い日差しは少しやわらいで、季節の移ろいを感じはじめる頃でもあるわ。
卒業してから何年も経つけれど、この時期になると、いまでもふとその頃のリズムを感じちゃうの。
Every September I think about what happened over the summer and what I’m looking forward to in fall. This summer I started a weekly dance class, and now I can feel more confident in my dancing and the new friendships I’ve made. At the end of this month, we will have the chance to perform a Kpop song in small groups, so I’m super excited! I haven’t performed since I was in high school. Do you think I will get stage fright?? I’ll do my best!!
毎年9月になると、夏にあったことをふと思い出して振り返ったり、これから迎える秋にどんなことが待っているのか考えてワクワクするわ。
この夏は週に一度のダンスクラスを始めて、少しずつダンスに自信がついてきたし、新しい友達もできたのがとっても嬉しくて。
今月の終わりには、少人数のグループに分かれてK-POPの曲を披露するチャンスがあるから、今からすごく楽しみにしてるの！
高校生のとき以来のステージだから、ちょっと緊張しちゃうかも……。でもがんばるね！
As the weather changes and the days get shorter, I will remember the new things I tried over the summer and look forward to the excitement of the holiday season (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s). In our next lesson, let’s talk about what we are excited about for fall!
季節が移り変わって日が少しずつ短くなっていくなかで、この夏に頑張ったことを思い出しながら、これからやってくるホリデーシーズン（ハロウィン、サンクスギビング、クリスマス、お正月）を楽しみたいわ。
