I love movies, and there are two films that I watch every year around Christmas.
As the holiday season is just around the corner, I’d love to share these two special movies with you.
私は映画が大好きで、毎年クリスマスの時期になると必ず観る映画が2本あります。
クリスマス直前のこの季節に、ぜひみなさんにご紹介させてくださいね。
🎄 The Muppet Christmas Carol：マペットのクリスマス・キャロル

The first of these movies is “The Muppet Christmas Carol” which was released in 1992. It is a beautiful, heartwarming adaptation of the famous novel by Charles Dickens, and features the amazing Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge as well as many of Jim Henson’s famous muppets like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Gonzo.
The movie is fun, touching and for me, it perfectly captures the magic and sprit of Christmas, and I watch it every year on Christmas Eve while enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine.
2本のうち、まず1本目にご紹介したいのが、1992年に公開された『マペットのクリスマス・キャロル』です。
この作品は、チャールズ・ディケンズの名作『クリスマス・キャロル』を原作にした、心がじんわり温かくなる素敵な映画。
エベニーザー・スクルージ役には名優マイケル・ケインが出演し、カーミットやミス・ピギー、ゴンゾなど、ジム・ヘンソンの愛らしいマペットたちもたくさん登場します。
楽しくて、ちょっぴり感動もあって、私にとってはクリスマスの魔法や温かな雰囲気をぎゅっと詰め込んだような一本。
毎年クリスマス・イブには、ホットチョコレートやホットワインを片手に、この映画を観るのが私の定番になっています。
🎄Three wishes for Cinderella：シンデレラの3つの願い
The other movie I always watch around Christmas time is a classic European fairytale film.
It was a co-production by the Czech Studio Barrandov and the German DEFA Studios.
The movie is known by two different titles:
in Czech, it is called “Tři oříšky pro Popelku”, and in German, “Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel.”
Translated into English, the title becomes “Three Wishes for Cinderella.”
Yes — it is a beautiful adaptation of the familiar Cinderella story.
Released in 1973, this film is based on the famous fairytale recorded by the Grimm Brothers.
The story is set in winter and features breathtaking snowy landscapes, stunning costumes, and a truly magical soundtrack.
Both Studio Barrandov and DEFA Studios are well known for their live-action fairytale films, and between the 1970s and 2000s, they produced some of the most visually beautiful fairytale adaptations ever brought to the screen.
もう一本、クリスマスの時期になると毎年欠かさず観ているのが、ヨーロッパの名作ファンタジー映画です。
この作品は、チェコのスタジオ・バランドフと、ドイツのDEFAスタジオによる共同制作。
タイトルは2つあり、
チェコ語では 「Tři oříšky pro Popelku」、
ドイツ語では 「Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel」 と呼ばれています。
これを英語にすると 「Three Wishes for Cinderella（シンデレラの3つの願い）」。
そう、実はみなさんもよくご存知の「シンデレラ」のお話しなんです。
1973年に公開されたこの映画は、グリム兄弟によって記録された有名な童話をもとにした作品。
物語は冬が舞台で、雪に包まれた美しい風景や、目を奪われるほど素敵な衣装、そして幻想的な音楽も大きな魅力です。
スタジオ・バランドフとDEFAスタジオは、実写の童話映画で知られる名門スタジオ。
1970年代から2000年頃にかけて、今も色あせない美しいファンタジー作品を数多く世に送り出してきました。
