Independence Day is almost here.
And no, Im not talking about an
alien invasion in which Will Smith saves the world from destruction.
Im talking about the Fourth of July, the anniversary of the day in
1776 when the Americans declared themselves independent of Britain.
In
other words, it is the day the United States became an independent country.
もうすぐ独立記念日です。
と言っても、ウィル・スミスがエイリアンの
侵略から世界を救う話をしているのではありません。
1776年7月4日にアメリカが宣言したイギリスからの独立記念日のこと
を言っているのです。
言い換えれば、アメリカ合衆国が独立した
自由の国になった日なのです。

There is a big festival in
my hometown.
Usually around this day, a rodeo and a concert is held which
is really fun.
I always enjoy watching these events with my family and
friends.

I eat and drink too much on this holiday.
