こんにちは！Jessicaです。
Summer, my favorite season, has finally arrived!
I love hot, sunny days, and clear blue skies.
For me, summer is camping, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
私の大好きな季節、夏がやっとやってまいりました！
暑いのも晴れた日も澄んだ青い空も大好きです。
My friends and I have a summer tradition.
Every year, we meet at my friend’s vacation home by a lake.
We always go on the weekend closest to July 4th.
私にとって夏はキャンプをしたり、ビーチに行ったり、家族や友達と過ごせる最高な季節です。
友人達と私には夏のお約束行事があります。
毎年、湖の近くの友人の別荘に集まるんです。
いつも7月4日前後の週末に出掛けるんです。

Why July 4th? That is America’s Independence Day!
なぜ7月4日だって？それはアメリカの独立記念日だからよ！

In America, we celebrate Independence Day with fireworks and barbecue.
Many Americans have a grill, so families and friends have a party and cook delicious food on the grill.
In the evening, everybody watches the fireworks together.
アメリカの独立記念日は花火とBBQでお祝いするって決まっているの。
たいていのアメリカ人はグリルを持っていて、家族や友人とグリルで美味しいごはんを料理しながらパーティーをします。
そして夕方になるとみんなで花火を観るんです。

My friend’s vacation home is next to a small lake.
We usually stay there for about 3 days.
Every day we go swimming, ride on the boat, eat delicious barbecue, drink a lot, and play games.
At night, we sit around the bonfire and cook hotdogs and marshmallows.
Days are always exciting, and nights are always relaxing.
友人の別荘は小さな湖のすぐそばにあります。
私達はいつも３日間くらい滞在するの。
毎日泳いだり、ボートに乗ったり、BBQをしてたくさん飲んだり、ゲームをしたりするの。
夜は焚き火を囲んで、ホットドックを作ったり、マシュマロを焼いたりします。
昼間は全力で楽しんで、夜はリラックスします。

On July 4th, we grill some big, beautiful steaks for dinner.
7月4日はいつも大きく素晴らしいステーキを焼きます。

At night, we light some fireworks and sparklers.
夜になったら花火や線香花火を観たり、やったりします。

The people across the lake light some big fireworks. We enjoy watching them!
湖の向こうの人たちが大きな花火をやっていて、私達もそれを観て楽しんでいます！

When the weekend ends, I feel very sad.
I wish we could play in the lake and have fun every day!
But I know that we will meet again next year.
その週末が終わるといつも寂しくなります。
もっとみんなで湖のそばで毎日遊べたらいいのに、ってね！
でも次の年にもまた会えるものね。
