午後の刺繍タイム
Greetings everyone, hope you have all gotten a chance to enjoy the wonderful cherry blossom. I managed to escape the busy crowd at Meguro river and had a lovely morning walk under the pink trees. The fallen petals turned the entire river into a pink carpet, it really was otherworldly.

素晴らしい桜はもう堪能されたかしら？
私は目黒川の「人渋滞」を少し避けて、朝の時間に、桜色に染まった木々の下をゆったりお散歩してきたのよ。
散った花びらが川一面をやさしい桜色の絨毯に変えていて、まるで別世界のような、幻想的な光景だったわ。
On another note, I’ve been squeezing time out of my packed schedules and had a peaceful afternoon sitting with a cup of tea; and did some embroidery! It all started when I saw the recent Simone Rocha fashion show. It was a pocket collaboration with Adidas, Rocha transferred her wonderful embroideries onto ballet style trainers, track suits and gym bags. It was an inspirational moment when luxury and street fashion combined. One downside, the collection is not releasing till September, and there is no way I could wait that long!
さて、少し話は変わるのだけれど、最近は忙しいスケジュールの合間をぬって、ほっと一息つく時間も大切にしているの。
この前は、温かいお茶を片手に、穏やかな午後をゆったりと過ごしながら、刺繍を楽しんだのよ。
きっかけは、シモーン・ロシャの最近のファッションショーを見たこと。
アディダスとのコラボで、彼女の美しい刺繍が、バレエスタイルのスニーカーやトラックスーツ、ジムバッグにあしらわれていてね。
ラグジュアリーとストリートファッションの組み合わせが目に入ったときに、思わずハッとしてしまったのよ。
ただひとつ残念なのは、そのコレクションの発売が9月までお預けだということ。
そんなに長くは待っていられないわ！
Almost like fate, I’ve spotted the perfect base for my project in the form of GU’s new ballet flats. After a quick shopping trip and a few credit card taps I am now fully armed for my session. Although being a fashion designer, I’ve not done any embroideries for a good while. It took a few trials and errors till I finally had my very own embroidered ballet flats bedazzled with rhinestones and pearls!
するとまるで運命のように、私の計画にぴったりの土台になる一足を見つけてしまったの。
それが、GUの新作バレエフラットだったのよ。
すぐに買い物に出かけて、クレジットカードをピピっとかざして…これで準備は万端。
私はファッションデザイナーではあるけれど、刺繍はしばらくしていなかったから、最初はなかなか思うようにいかなくて。
何度か試行錯誤を重ねて、ようやく自分だけの刺繍入りバレエフラットが完成したの。
ラインストーンやパールで華やかに飾って、とってもお気に入りの一足になったわ。
I love doing small projects like this, it’s one of my many ways to slow down time and unwind from the busy world. It gives a great sense of accomplishment, however, it’s very addictive. I’m already on my second pair, but how could one say no to more shoes?
こういうコツコツとしたことに没頭する時間がとても好きなの。
忙しい毎日の中で、時間の流れを少しゆるめて、心をほどくための大切なひとときなのよ。
完成したときの達成感もまた格別なのだけれど…ひとつだけ難点があって。
つい夢中になってしまうのよ。
気がつけば、もう2足目に取りかかっているところ。
でも、新しい靴の誘惑に抗えるはずなんてないわよね。
