I want to share a geeky hobby of mine: Dungeons & Dragons!
今日は、私のちょっとオタクな趣味についてご紹介したいと思うの！
It’s a type of role-playing game that was first created in 1974. There was even a famous movie based on it that was released in 2023.
それは「ダンジョンズ＆ドラゴンズ（Dungeons & Dragons）」というゲームなのよ。
1974年に誕生したテーブルトークRPG（サイコロを振ったり会話をしたりしながら、みんなでひとつの冒険物語を作っていくゲーム）で、2023年には映画化もされたので、名前を聞いたことがある方もいるかもしれないわね。
In a nutshell, the game has a DM (Dungeon Master) who creates and guides the story. The DM explains the situation to the players, and then the players discuss what to do and make decisions together.
簡単に説明すると、このゲームにはDM（ダンジョンマスター）と呼ばれる進行役がいて、物語を作りながらプレイヤーたちを冒険へ導いてくれるの。
DMが状況を説明し、プレイヤーたちは相談しながら「次に何をするか」を決めていくのよ。

My favorite part is character creation. We can choose what kind of character we want to play and decide on their unique skills and abilities.
私が特に好きなのは、キャラクター作りだわ。
どんな種族や職業にするか、どんな能力を持たせるかなど、自分だけのキャラクターを作れるのが本当に楽しいのよね。
Another thing I love is the dice! There are countless designs, colors, and styles to collect, and finding new ones is part of the fun.
それから、もうひとつ大好きなのがサイコロなの！
ゲームで使うサイコロには本当にたくさんの種類があって、デザインや色、スタイルもさまざま。
ついつい集めたくなってしまうのよ。
My friends and I get together once a month to play. We always enjoy dinner and dessert together afterward, which makes it even more special.
私たちは月に一度、友人たちと集まってプレイしているわ。
ゲームの後にはみんなで夕食やデザートを楽しむのも恒例で、それもまた楽しみのひとつなのよね。
