As some of you know, I am a musician.
ご存知もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、僕はミュージシャンです。
I compose music and I mainly play an instrument called the oud.
作曲をし、主にウッドと言う楽器を弾きます。
The oud is a pear-shaped string instrument most commonly found all over the Middle East.
ウッドは洋ナシの形をした弦楽器で、中東では良く使われる楽器です。
It is actually an ancestor to the guitar in the west, and the biwa in Japan.
実はね、ウッドはヨーロッパではギターの、そして、日本ではビワの原型と言われているんだ。
The oud has 11 or 12 strings and is plucked with a plectrum called a “risha” or “mizrap.”
ウッドには１１か１２の弦があり、RishaもしくはMizrapと呼ばれるバチで
弦を弾くんだよ。

I play different kinds of music on this instrument.
僕は、この楽器で色々な音楽を弾きます。
Sometimes I play Arabic music with a belly dancer and sometimes I play my own compositions as a solo performer. 時には、ベリーダンサー（最近日本でも流行ってますよね）と一緒に
アラビアンミュージックを弾くし、時にはソロ演奏者として自分のオリジナルの曲を弾きます。
