Hi guys!
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta takes place every year at the beginning of October in Albuquerque, NM, USA.
For 9 days you can see over 500 hot air balloons of all different shapes and sizes in the air.
It is the largest hot air balloon festival in the world!
“Fiesta” is Spanish for “party” or “festival”.
People from all over the world come to fly their hot air balloons and take part in the festival.
I couldn’t go this year because I was in Japan, but my friend sent me a picture.

『アルバカーキインターナショナルバルーンフェスタ』はアメリカのニューメキシコ州アルバカーキで毎年10月上旬に開催されています。
9日間の間、500機を超える様々な大きさや形をした気球を観ることができます。
これは世界最大の気球のお祭りです。
“フェスタ”とはスペイン語で”パーティー”や”お祭り”を意味します。
世界中の人達が、自分達の気球を飛ばすためにやってきます。
私は今年日本にいたので行くことが出来ませんでしたが、友人が写真を送ってくれました。
When I was young, my brother and I used to get really excited when we woke up in the morning, looked out the window and saw beautiful hot air balloons in the sky.
Sometimes they flew really close to our house. My father took a picture of a balloon that landed near the house I grew up in.
子どもの頃、私と私の兄弟は、朝目が覚めて窓の外に綺麗な気球が空に浮かんでいるのを見てとても興奮しました。
時々、気球は私達の家のすぐそばを飛んでいました。父は私が育った家の近くに着陸した気球の写真を撮りました。
I have never ridden a hot air balloon, and to be honest with you I’m a little afraid of heights, but I think it would be an exciting experience.
私はこれまで気球に乗ったことがありませんし、正直高い所が少し恐いです。しかし、気球に乗るのはとても良い経験になるだろうと思います。
