I just came back from Vietnam, where I spent nine incredible days.
やー！みんな。ちょうどベトナムから帰って来たんだけど、とっても良いところだったよ！
I started my adventure in Hanoi, in the north of the country.
Hanoi is a shock to the senses, a riot of noise, colour, dirt, beauty…
and scooters, thousands of them, a stream of engines pumping 24 hours like the blood of the city.
ハノイっていうベトナムの北部にある首都から回り始めたんだけど、
ハノイは騒音や様々な色、ほこりに美しさ、それにたくさんのスクーターが走り、
24時間流れる血流のようなエンジン音は衝撃的だったよ。
And Hanoi is where I first tried Vietnamese coffee, which is absolutely delicious
and very, very strong – one cup is enough for the day!
それと、ハノイは僕が初めてベトナムコーヒーを飲んだところで、とってもおいしかったよ！
でもすごく濃くて、1日1杯で十分かな。
Of course I had pho, and was not disappointed.
It came with a huge topping of beef and the soup was probably the best noodle stock I have ever tasted
(and I have lived for five years in Fukuoka!)
It was also very cheap: a big bowl of pho costs just 100 yen.
もちろんフォーも食べたんだけど、やっぱり美味しかったなぁ～。
大きい肉のトッピングがついて、スープはたぶん今までで一番だね！
（福岡にも5年は住んでたんだ。）
それにすっごく安かったんだ！大きな器で、たった100円だよ！
From Hanoi, I travelled to Halong Bay, a World Heritage Site,
and then down to the ancient capital of Hue, after a 13 hour train ride of lush emerald scenery
(I was so excited to see real water buffalo in the rice fields!)
ハノイから13時間エメラルドの風景を眺めながら電車に乗ったところに
世界遺産のハロン湾、下ると古城があって、そこを回ってきたんだ。
（よくある、田園にいる水牛を見れて興奮したよ！）
There was still time to eat more before I left: hot, crispy banana fritters for just 30 yen,
and chorizo sausages with mochi rice at a stall in the middle of a busy highway…
帰るまで食べたいものがまだたくさんあったんだけど、30円のホットクリスピーバナナフリッター。それに、高速道路の途中にある屋台で売ってる、もち米と食べるチョリソー。
I was so moved by the beauty of Vietnam and the spirit of her people.
Even Doraemon has a second home there – though he’s been redesigned a little bit!
