Hi everyone!
I recently went back to my hometown and had such a wonderful time there. I’m originally from Washington State, where autumn feels especially magical and different from any other season.
みなさん、こんにちは！
先日、久しぶりに地元へ帰省して、とても素敵な時間を過ごしてきました。
私の出身地・ワシントン州の秋は、ほかの季節とはひと味違う特別な魅力があるのよ。
Washington is known for big companies like Boeing, Costco, Starbucks, and Microsoft, but did you know that we actually export nearly 900 million dollars’ worth of apples every year? My hometown is also famous for its shellfish and salmon—and honestly, I truly believe we have the best oysters in the world!
ワシントン州といえば、ボーイングやコストコ、スターバックス、マイクロソフトなどの企業で知られていますが、実は毎年、約9億ドル分ものりんごを輸出していることをご存じでしたか？
私の地元は、貝類やサーモンでも有名で、特に牡蠣は「世界一おいしい！」と自慢したくなるほどだわ。
Every autumn, the salmon swim upstream to lay their eggs, and this year I was lucky enough to see it with my own eyes. My mother and I would take our dog to the river each morning and watch the salmon together. We were even lucky enough to spot harbor seals and rough-skinned newts along the way. It was such a special experience.
そして毎年秋になると、サーモンたちは産卵のために、川をさかのぼって泳いでくるの。
今年は運よく、その様子を実際にこの目で見ることができたわ。
母と一緒に愛犬を連れて川までお散歩に行き、毎朝サーモンを眺めるのが日課に。
そのほかにも、ゼニガタアザラシや、ラフスキン・イモリ（ざらざらした肌のイモリ）を見かけることもあって、どれも本当に貴重で、忘れられない体験になったわ。
