It’s summer barbecue season!
I think every country has their own version of barbecue.
In the USA, barbecue can have two different meanings.
First, a barbecue can mean “an outdoor cooking party” and is sometimes called a “cookout”.
Popular cookout foods are hamburgers, hotdogs, and corn on the cob, cooked on a grill over charcoal.

アメリカでは「バーベキュー」という言葉に二つの意味があります。
一つ目のバーベキューは「屋外での料理パーティー」の意味で、「クックアウト」と呼ぶこともあります。
人気のあるクックアウト料理は、ハンバーガー、ホットドッグ、そしてとうもろこしで、炭火を使ってグリルします。
The second meaning is a style of cooking meat with spices or sauce, and either smoking the meat or cooking it at a low temperature for a long time.
It is especially popular in the American south, and you can find barbecue restaurants that serve beef brisket, chicken, ribs, and all kinds of meats cooked this way.
There are even a few American-style barbecue restaurants in Tokyo that I can recommend!
二つ目のバーベキューは、スパイスやソースを使って肉を調理し、それを燻製するか低温で長時間調理するスタイルを指します。
特にアメリカ南部で人気があり、この方法で調理されたビーフブリスケット、チキン、リブなど様々な肉料理を提供するバーベキューレストランがあります。
東京にも皆さんにおススメしたいアメリカ風のバーベキューレストランが何軒かあるんですよ！
