When the weather is nice, I feel so productive and energized.
I take the opportunity to do the laundry in the morning so I can hang everything to dry while the sun is out.
While I’m at it, I dust the rooms and wash the dishes even though it is my least favorite chore in the world.
天気が良い日の私は、てきぱき動いて元気いっぱいなの。
午前中に洗濯をして、日が照ってるうちに洗濯物を全部干すの。
その間に大っ嫌いな部屋の掃除や食器洗いも終わらすようにしています。
When the sun is up, I’m up it seems, but I do take the time to rest and reward myself for my efforts by going out, enjoying the sun and treating myself to a nice lunch at a cafe.
After that, I go grocery shopping and get as many ingredients and goodies as I can for the days ahead.
朝は明るくなると自然と目が覚めるけれど、意識してゆっくり休息を取るようにしてから、外出して日光浴を楽しんだり、カフェで素敵なランチを食べたりして、頑張っている自分にご褒美をあげるの。
その後は買い物に出かけて、食材やお菓子をできるだけ買いそろえます。
There’s an expression I like that goes, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”
It means, in order to help and take care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first.
That being said, rainy days are a time for me to slow down and rest.
I’m like a sleepy cat on rainy days because I want to do absolutely nothing.
私が好きな言葉に、「You can’t pour from an empty cup.（（空っぽのカップからは何も注げない）」というものがあります。
これは、誰かを助けたり、役に立つには、まず自分自身を大切にする必要があるという意味です。
だからね、雨の日は私にとっては、静かにのんびり過ごす時間なんです。
雨が降ると、なぁんにもしたくなくて、眠たげにウトウトしている猫のようになっちゃうわ。
If it’s raining, I’m probably on my bed, watching YouTube having a snack or two and falling asleep to a narrator’s voice and the rain.
However, I also leave indoor chores for rainy days sometimes so I can enjoy sunny days to the fullest.
It’s more likely I’m cocooned in my room though.
たいていベッドの上でちょっとおやつをつまみながらYouTubeを見ているうちに、ナレーションの声と雨音で寝落ちしちゃうのよ。
でもね、晴れた日は思い切り遊びたいから、雨の日は家の中でやるべきことを済ませることもあるわ。
結局、たいていは部屋から一歩も外に出ないってことなんだけどね。
