Hi everyone! My name is Dobromir and I’m the newest Lesson Partner at B.
やー、みなさん！ドブロミールです！ｂの新人レッスンパートナーだよ。
I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of you, so I want to tell
you a little bit about myself first.
みなさんと早くお会いしたいので、ちょっと自己紹介させていただきます。
I’m from a town near Liverpool in the UK, although I was born in Bulgaria
and half of my family live there. My father is English and my mother is
Bulgarian, so I have a Bulgarian first name; ‘Dobromir’ means ‘good peace’
and is a very old name in Bulgaria. We moved to the UK when I was only 10
months old, however, so I consider myself to be very British!
僕はイギリス・リバプールに近い町の出身です。
でもブルガリアで生まれ、家族の半分はそこに住んでいます。
父はイギリス、母はブルガリなので、僕のファーストネーム・ドブロミールはブルガリア語で
｢平和｣って意味なんだ。でもブルガリアでは古い名前なんだよね。
僕が生まれて10か月の時、イギリスに引っ越してきたんだけど、
自分ではイギリス人って思ってるよ。
I studied films at university and wanted to be a filmmaker, but after
finishing I decided that I wanted to travel and see the world instead.
I’d always wanted to go to Asia, so I did a teaching course in Phuket,
Thailand, and then worked at a university in Northern Thailand for a year.
大学では映画を勉強して、その関係の仕事に就きたかったんだけど、でも
卒業してから、世界に興味がでて、旅行したかったんだ。
僕はいつもアジアに行きたくて、タイのプーケットで教育コースを受けたんだ。
その時、一年程、タイ北部の大学で働いていました。
I’ve always been interested in Japan, though, so after that I applied for a
job in Kanagawa Prefecture, where I lived for 6 months. I’ve spent the
last 4 years teaching English at a high school just outside Hiroshima.
I loved living in Hiroshima – it’s a friendly city with a lot of famous
sights, from the Atomic Bomb Dome to Miyajima.
でも僕はやっぱり日本に興味があって、 神奈川県で仕事を探し、半年くらい住んでいました。
この4年間は広島の方で高校生に英語を教えていました。
広島はとってもいいところだよ！みんな優しいし、たくさん観光するところがあるしね、
原爆ドームから宮島まで。
I love living in a big city, however, so I’m very excited to be living in
Tokyo now. I think it’s one of the most exciting cities in the world.
There are so many things happening, and so many interesting buildings and
areas. I love architecture and photography, and Tokyo has a lot of amazing
views. In my free time, I love to watch films and drink coffee (Harajuku
and Shibuya are my favourite places for that!) I’m a big fan of ‘Beat’
Takeshi Kitano’s films, especially ‘Hana-Bi’, which I think is one of the
best films ever made. I also love live rock music, so I try to go to as
many concerts as I can.
僕は大都市での生活が大好きで、今、東京にいるからとっても興奮してるよ！
いろんな事があって、すごいビルや場所があって、たぶん、世界でもっとも楽しい場所の一つだよね。
建築や写真にも興味があるんだけど、東京はなんでもあるよね！
時間があれば、映画を観たり、原宿や渋谷でコーヒーを飲んだり、そんな時には最高の場所だよ。
それに僕は北野たけしの大ファンなんだ！特に花火！たぶん今までの中で一番だよ！
あとはロックのライブに行くのも好きかな。だからできるだけたくさんコンサートに行ってみたいかな。
