Time flies! I can’t believe January is almost over!
I’ve been very busy this month, but I also tried to take time to think about what I can change in my life this year.
時が経つのは早いものですね！もう1月も終わりです！
今月はとても忙しかったですが、今年は自分の人生で何を変えられるかを考える時間を持ちたいとも思ったの。
The name January comes from the Roman god, Janus.
Janus was the god of beginnings, endings, doors and transitions.
Pictures of him usually have two faces — one looking forward and one looking backward.
I guess it’s always important to remember where you have been, even while you are moving forward!
「January」という月の名前はローマ神話の神ヤヌスに由来しています。
ヤヌスは出入り口と扉の守護神です。
彼の写真にはたいてい2つの顔があって、1つは前を向き、もう1つは後ろを向いています。
将来に向けて進んでいる時にも、常に過去を振り返ることが大切だ、ということなんでしょうね。
One of my new year’s resolutions was to read more books.
By the way, J.R.R. Tolkien (writer of the Lord of the Rings series) and A.A. Milne (creator of Winnie the Pooh and his friends) were both born in January.
私の新年の抱負の1つはもっと本を読むことでした。
ちなみに、J.R.R.トールキン（『ロード・オブ・ザ・リング』シリーズの作者）とA.A.ミルン（『くまのプーさん』の作者）はふたりとも1月生まれなのよ。
