Texas is a state many people have heard of.
Unlike California and New York though, it’s a place few have visited.
Known as the Lone Star state, Texas is very big.
テキサス州は多くの人が聞いたことがある州だと思います。
でもカリフォルニアやニューヨークと違って、行ったことがある人はほとんどいないと思います。
Lone Star state（一つ星の州）のニックネームで知られるテキサスはとても大きいです。
Many European countries can fit inside of Texas.
ヨーロッパ諸国がたくさんテキサス州に収まってしまいます。
Many years ago, it used to be its own country and because of that, people from Texas often feel very proud of their state.
ずっと昔にはテキサスは独立国家でした。そのため、テキサスの人々は自国を誇りに思っています。
In Texas, there are several big cities like Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.
テキサスには大きな都市がいくつかあります。例えばダラス、オースティンそしてサンアントニオです。
There are also very small towns.
また、とっても小さな都市もあります。
In Texas, there are deserts, plains and even beaches.
テキサスには砂漠や平野部、海もあります。
Because of its closeness to Mexico, people in Texas enjoy many foods.
The most famous foods are chilli con carne, pecan pie and ofcourse, steak
メキシコととても近いので、テキサスの人たちはいろんな料理を楽しみます。
最も有名な料理はチリコンカーンとピカンパイそしてもちろんステーキ！
Did you know Dr. Pepper was invented in Texas?
ちなみに、ドクターペッパーはテキサス発祥だって知ってましたか？
Though there are no cowboys in Texas, you can visit the Houston Space Centre, see natural parks as well as famous landmarks like the Alamo.
テキサス州にはカウボーイはいませんが、ヒューストン宇宙センターや自然公園、アラモのような有名なランドマークといった見どころがあります。
Texas is a very unique state and where I consider my home.
