1．ofの後ろを動詞の原形にしない

誤：She is on the point of cry.
正：She is on the point of crying.

2．be about toと語順を混ぜない

be about to leave
be on the point of leaving

be on the point to leave や be about to leaving は誤りです。2つの型をセットで対比すると覚えやすくなります。

3．「要点」のpointと混同しない

pointには「要点・主張」という意味もありますが、on the point of doingでは「出来事が始まる時点・境目」です。
