場所も加えるなら、I’m waiting for the train on the platform. と言えます。
駅の「ホーム」は英語で platform。平らな面の上にいるので、前置詞は基本的に on を使います。

彼女は2番ホームで電車を待っています。
ここでの on は場所を示しているので、wait on という熟語ではありません。wait for the train が動作、on the platform が場所です。

ただし、駅全体を場所として言うなら at the station が自然です。ホームという面の上なら on the platform と覚えましょう。
