駅や地下鉄で目的地へ向かうとき、「何番出口から出ればいい？」と聞きたくなることがあります。英語では、Which exit should I take? が自然で使いやすい表現です。

Which は、いくつかある選択肢の中から「どれ」を尋ねる言葉です。駅に複数の出口があり、目的地へ行くために選ぶときはこの表現がぴったりです。
- Which exit should I take for the museum?（博物館へ行くには何番出口から出ればいいですか？）
- Which exit should I use?（どの出口を使えばいいですか？）
- Which exit is closest to the hotel?（ホテルにいちばん近い出口はどれですか？）

日本語では「何番出口」と言いますが、英語では番号そのものより「どの出口」を聞くため、通常は which exit と表現します。
What exit should I take? でも通じる？
What exit should I take? も会話では使われ、意味は通じます。ただし、目の前に複数の出口という選択肢がある場面では、Which exit should I take? のほうが分かりやすい言い方です。
答えるときは Exit 3 または the third exit

出口に番号やアルファベットが付いている場合は、Exit 3 や Exit B2 のように言えます。番号ではなく順番を説明するなら the first exit、the second exit、the third exit を使います。
Take Exit 3. の take は、電車に「乗る」だけでなく、道・出口・手段などを「選んで進む」ときにも使われます。
「どの出口にいる？」と待ち合わせ相手へ聞く
目的地へ向かうための出口ではなく、待ち合わせ相手がいる出口を確認するなら、次の表現が便利です。

- Which exit are you near?（どの出口の近くにいる？）
- Are you at the east exit or the west exit?（東口と西口、どっちにいる？）
- Are you inside or outside the station?（駅の中？それとも外？）

Which exit should I take? は「自分がどの出口を使うべきか」、Which exit are you at? は「相手がどの出口にいるか」を聞く表現です。よく似ていますが、質問の目的が違います。

outside the exit は出口の外側、by the exit は出口のそば、in front of the exit は出口の前を表します。「すぐ」を強めたいときは just や right を加えます。
「どの改札？」は Which ticket gate?
日本の大きな駅では、出口へ向かう前に改札が複数あることもあります。「どの出口？」と「どの改札？」は別の質問です。
