I’m from the United States and have been living in Japan for about 4 years.

There so many exciting people, so many interesting customs, and so many wonderful things to do all over Japan. This country is a great place to meet new people and make new experiences.

僕の名前はPeterです。皆さんにお会いできて嬉しく思います！

僕はアメリカ出身で、日本に住んで約4年になります。

日本にはとてもステキな人々や、興味深い習慣、そして素晴らしいことがたくさんあります。

新しい人や新しい経験をするのにとても最高な場所ですね。

Meeting new people and making new friends is a great way to learn new things.

During my time in Japan, I’ve met many friendly people from all over the country.

I really enjoy researching regional customs, dialects, and specialty dishes.

Two dialects I am especially interested in are Kyoto-ben and Nagoya-ben.

Some of my favorite regional dishes include miso-katsu (Nagoya) and Sapporo miso ramen.

I am also interested in Japanese concepts such as “tatemae” and “honne,” as well as artistic themes such as “mono no aware.”

新しい人との出会いや新しい友だちを作ることは新しいことを学ぶのにとても良い方法です。

日本にいる間、僕は各地から来た、たくさんのとてもフレンドリーな人たちに出会いました。

僕は地方の習慣、方言、そして名物料理のリサーチをとても楽しんでいます。

僕が特に興味のある方言は京都弁と名古屋弁です。

お気に入りの地方の名物料理には名古屋の味噌カツと札幌の味噌ラーメンがあります。

また僕は日本の「建前」と「本音」というような考え方、同様に「もののあわれ」などの芸術的なテーマにも興味があります。

Going to museums, drawing pictures, practicing, watching movies, traveling, exercising, meditation, and creative writing are just a few things that inspire me.

Music is also an important part of my life.

I like most genres of music and have experience singing as well as playing the double bass, bass guitar, and piano.

美術館に行くこと、絵を描く事、マーシャルアーツを練習すること、映画鑑賞、旅行、運動、瞑想、創作的執筆は僕に刺激を与えるほんの一部にすぎません。

音楽もまた僕の人生においてとても大切な一部です。僕はほとんどの音楽ジャンルが好きで、歌だけでなくダブル・ベースやベース、ピアノも弾いたことがあります。

For a long time, I have held the belief that life is an adventure.

Every day, we are presented with chances to discover beauty, happiness, and truth no matter who we are, where we live, how old we are, or any other circumstance.

I hope to share many of these chances with you during our time together at “b.”

長い間、人生は冒険だという信念を僕は抱いてきました。

僕たちには毎日皆、誰でも、どこに住んでいても、いくつであっても、またどんな状況であっても、美や幸福、真実を見出すチャンスを与えられています。
