Nice to meet you!My name is Rachel Noriko Dranetz, and I am from the United States!
はじめまして！アメリカ出身のRachel Noriko Dranetz（レイチェル・ノリコ・ドラネッツ）です。

My grandmother was from Japan, so I have always been interested in learning more about Japanese culture and language.
Japanese food is my absolute favorite! Now that I am living in Japan, my favorite thing is being able to eat something delicious every day.
祖母が日本出身だったので、日本の文化や日本語にずっとすごく興味を持っていました。
日本食が大好きなんです！今、日本に住んでいるので、毎日美味しいものを食べられることが何より嬉しいわ。

Lately, I’ve really been enjoying cold soba.
If you ever want to talk about food with me, I would be super happy to hear any recommendations for things I should try next!
For instance, what kinds of special foods are there in the summertime?
最近は冷たいそばにハマっています。

夏のおすすめの食べ物は何かしら？

I grew up in Florida, Hawaii, and Texas; all of which have very warm climates!
I heard that Tokyo is also very hot in the summer, and that there are many convenient products you can buy to ‘beat the heat’.
私はフロリダ、ハワイ、テキサスで育ちましたが、どの地域もとても温暖な気候です。
東京の夏もとても暑いから、暑さをしのぐ便利なグッズがたくさんあるそうですね。

I am also really excited to experience my first Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival)!
I have only ever worn a Yukata a handful of times, and I am really excited to see the festival with my friends!

I am also interested in Japanese fashion!
I think the different styles here in Tokyo are super cute.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping for clothes and cute accessories.
I even try and get my nails done whenever I can!
The fashion in Tokyo is so unique and unlike anything else in the world. So cool!
日本のファッションにも興味があります！
東京のいろいろなスタイルはとてもかわいいと思います。
時間があれば、洋服やかわいいアクセサリーのショッピングを楽しんでします。
ネイルもできる限りするようにしています！
東京のファッションはとても個性的で、世界のどのファッションとも異なり、とてもクールだと思います！

I am very happy to be living in Japan.
I am thrilled to be able to teach English while also learning more about Japan and the Japanese language. (Kanji is my weak point!)
