When I went back to France for the New Year’s holidays, I wanted to visit my own country because there are many beautiful places I have never been to.
This time my family and I went to Bordeaux for a few days.
Bordeaux is famous for the wine that is made in the countryside nearby but the city in itself has a lot to offer.
年末にフランスへ帰った時、一度自分の国の中を訪れてみたいって思ってたの、まだ行った事のない素敵な場所がたくさんあるからね。
今回は家族と数日間ボルドーへ行ったわ。
ボルドーは郊外で作られたワイン有名だけど、街自体がすごく魅力的なの。

The city centre, built around the 18th century, is listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site.
The architecture is beautiful and impressive. Traffic is prohibited in most of the centre so it is very comfortable for pedestrians. When I went, the streets were full of people enjoying the holidays, and children trying out their new Christmas toys. The atmosphere was very laid-back.
町の中心部は18世紀の建築物を中心にユネスコの世界遺産に登録されているわ。
建築物はとても素敵で印象的よ。自動車の市街地進入が禁止されているので、歩行者には快適なの。
私が行った時には、道路は休暇を楽しむ人たちでいっぱいだったわ。子供たちも新しいクリスマスのおもちゃを試したり。とてもゆったりした雰囲気だったわ。

The river bank is very nice with a bike lane, shops, a skatepark and parks to relax.
The highlight of the promenade is the water mirror. The historical buildings nearby are reflected on the water, it is gorgeous.
川岸には素敵な自転車のレーンや、スケートパークや公園があるの。
散歩のハイライトは水鏡よ。歴史的建造物が水面に反射してとても綺麗なの。

Bordeaux is famous for its Cannelés. It is a kind of bite-size cake made with vanilla and rum.
The outside is caramelized and crunchy while the inside is very soft.
I had eaten cannelés before but the fresh ones I bought in Bordeaux were by far the most delicious I had ever eaten.
ボルドーはカヌレも有名よ。ラム酒とバニラの効いた一口サイズのケーキなの。
外側はカラメルでサクッとしていて中はやわらかいの。
カヌレは前にも食べたことがあったけど、ボルドーで買ったカヌレは今までに食べた中ではるかに美味しかったわ。

If you have a chance to visit France but would like to go outside Paris, I highly recommend going to Bordeaux, it is a very unique place and not too far from the capital
